...Summer, 2007...

Welcome to ArtSTAGE's first Online Newsletter!

In an effort to seek alternative ways to help be an eco-friendly
business, we're trying a new way to spread current and upcoming
news.  As Director at ArtSTAGE, I invite all to read and comment on
this informational web page and hope it is useful and enjoyable!  ~
    Sarah Wilson

:: May 26th will be the last official day of the "2007 Spring
Semester" !  Can you believe how time is passing this year.  I know
that many students are anticipating their higher grade advancements
and some even are moving up to Middle & High School!

:: Our Summer Session will begin on June 4th, 2007 and continue
until August 1st, 2007.  With many students out of school for
summer break, there will be ample opportunities for extra practice,
making this a prime time for achieving higher levels of playing!

:: With all this in-house excellence, I have arranged for a Summer
Recital on July 20th, 2007.  It is at 7:00-7:45 p.m., Friday evening
and this recital is at another retirement home:

Whitaker Glen,  501 East Whitaker Mill Road, Raleigh, NC
    27608; Telephone: (919)839-5604. www.whitakerglen.com

:: I am arranging another flute ensemble piece and I would like
volunteers to play.  Please let me or Elena know at your next lesson
if you're interested in participating.  This is an excellent opportunity to
meet other flutists, perform in a group setting, and play beautiful
music.  I look forward to any and all level players.  Let us know if
you're interested as soon as possible, so we can start rehearsals!
My proposed rehearsal time is either Friday at 5:30, followed by
pizza, or Saturday afternoon around 3 or so.

:: Resident Summer Cellist: David Himmelheber!
All interested cello students will be studying with our special summer
resident cellist!  David is visiting from NYC for the summer to teach
any and all cellists.  This is a rare opportunity to study with such
talent, so tell anyone you know that might be interested in this
    exciting news!

:: Raleigh Area Flute Association (aka RAFA) is holding its Annual
Flute Fair and Contest in the fall.  The repertoire lists are posted on
their website, www.raleighflutes.org.  Let's start preparing for this as
soon as possible, so we can have many ArtSTAGE participants and
winners this year!   It's a wonderful opportunity to excell on your
    instrument.

:: In addition,  NC Bandmaster's will be announcing their "All-
County/District" required pieces soon and your teachers will be sure
to let you know as soon as it's posted.  This summer will be a
wonderful time for all performers to get a head start on next year's
    competitors. Hint...hint. :)

:: Our Entertainment Division Visits "First Friday Art Gallery Walk"!
May 4th marked the first performance ArtSTAGE had in downtown
Raleigh at the First Friday event.  Elena Lazaro Evans, Sarah Wilson,
and Matt Evans performed duets for violin and flute and enjoyed the
wonderful artistic atmosphere!  Hope to see you all there next time!

:: Upcoming Semester Dates to Mark on your Calendar:
    Duration: August 2nd, 2007 - December 23rd, 2007
